WOW

Outside doing a little astronomy 101 with Hal in honour of Patrick Moore when we saw the best shooting star I've seen in more years than I can think powering right past Orion. Almost bright enough to be a firework.

Remember that really bright one that shot over Britain a few weeks back? Apparently it was trailing some debris behind it, because we've been getting a few come in from that vector since then. They've all been goodly sized chunks of rock that burn up nicely. [the astronomy sites have been quietly buzzing about it, something about a high inclination apollo asteroid at or near apologee which we're crossing the path of.]
